PAGE SIX - My Handwriting

Click on the image to see the full-size page.

Unless you can't read or yours is worse than mine, my handwriting is the worst of it's kind. I've also yet to even reach the "mediocre" level of comic text. Centering and planning ahead have never been at the forefront of my brain (as you know). Hopefully you can read the comic. I don't really want to use anything other than a brightness/contrast element on the computer to do this comic. I want it to stay mostly "traditional". So...no Comic Sans for you.

This is the page I lost to coffee. I'll scan the coffee-stained one some day because it looks better. At least some elements of it are better.

Filler Art

Long-overdue art I owe you guys. It's not much, but it was fun to do. I've been busy with lots of "life crap", like moving again and missing sleep. I'll get a page done when I can!

PAGE FIVE - Pedophile?

Click to read page.

I made this one a little darker, for some reason. Also, you can kind of tell I was in a hurry to get this done.

More Sketches (Sketch)

I wanted to get out a good full-sized image of Tlaloc in his "regular" form since the only one I use for reference right now is made on a tiny scrap of paper (a sticker, even).

He hasn't really got claws, just those funny pointy graspers that frogs and toads have. But he does have massive fangs and hair growing out of his elbows, knees and sides. And head.

EDIT: I didn't make his fangs big enough.

PAGE FOUR - At least four kinds of evil on this page.

Click the image to read the page.

Tezcatlipoca is kind of evil, if you didn't notice. And sweet earrings. Oh, and the light source is Tlaloc's GIANT GLOWING FROG EYES.

Vaya Con Dios

I managed to salvage the page I thought I ruined. It just might work. Still not done, though, not yet.

And yes, Tlaloc has to speak telepathically. He says why later but because it isn't a spoiler, I'll tell you now. His fangs are so big he can't close his mouth, nor can he move his lips enough to form those crazy Nahuatl words. The "HRUH" is his breathing, if you hadn't guessed. I want to do some more drawings of Tlaloc in this form, mostly because he really doesn't stretch out and show off a lot in the comic. And I like the design so, dammit, I need to gloat about it.

PAGE THREE - Giant Frog

Click the image to get read the page.

There's Tlaloc. He's a giant, hairy, fanged frog. Enjoy.
And yes, his breakfast consists of children.

Llego Tarde

I'm working on the next page bit by bit. This month is going to be nutters and I'm not going to promise anything. Even GF will probably have some issues.

Speaking of GF, its 4th birthday is September 12th (Mine is the 11th!).

Be on the lookout for more BLOOD and more GO FISH.

PAGE TWO - Phallic as hell

Click the image to read the comic, apparently.

I'm quite surprised I still have ink left in my nice pens after this page. This was done at the laundromat. After an hour, I thought maybe people outside may be wondering why I was inking a giant penis in public.

It's a not penis.

A giant black mark appeared on this image after it was scanned and I've yet to verify if it was on the original. So weird.

There's Tlaloc.

PAGE ONE - The Forest

Click on the page to read it (apparently).

Comments: This is my first attempt at a full-traditional comic. I used to Photoshop to bring the black back out (damn you, scanner) and to move the text. I have atrocious handwriting so enjoy that.
No, I didn't use references. I was inking this at my mom's house at 2am. What did you expect?
Also, say hello to Tezcatlipoca, the Smoking Mirror.

Sketches, Scans and Previews: pt 1

A few other characters are still in the process of being created and fine-tuned. The only two that I've really worked out are Tlaloc (duh) and Tezcatlipoca. Although, I am still torn between Tezca's hair being up or down. I love this guy so there are more of him than Tlaloc in this edition and maybe you can help me choose which way to go with his hair. ALSO! Please go to Godchecker.com and pick some random Aztec gods for me to use! If their names are over 20 characters, I'm not gonna use them...

Photobucket
Tlaloc as he appears in the mythology, not done up in his royal garb. Spoiler?

Photobucket
Tezcatlipoca, the Smoking Mirror or Black Wizard. Imagine a cross between Loki and Satan. He is represented by a jaguar.

Photobucket
Tezca has a horrible habit of being ridiculously evil and malicious.

Photobucket
This was actually a scene from the original version of BLOOD, but Tlaloc has since been reworked. I just like how he looks here.

Photobucket
Tezcatlipoca be not amused. He doesn't have dreads, his hair is pulled back into a small, loose ponytail.

Photobucket
And here he is with his hair up (yes it's shorter when it's up).

So go ahead and decide which hairstyle you prefer and what other gods you'd like to see!
Next time: Quetzalcoatl, Chalchiuhtlicue and Ehecatl. Maybe Xochiquetzal...

Que Tal

I'm very excited about BLOOD, as grim as that may sound, and I hope you are too.

Please take a moment to go to Godchecker.com and find me some random Aztec gods to add in.

Hola

June 27th, 2009

BLOOD is in sketch form. A few pages are completed. I am planning on doing it in just pen and ink with cross-hatching shadows. I would like your opinions on this. Thank you.
